The author of Absolutely Normal Chaos is Sharon Creech. She is a famous American author of children's fiction. Sharon was born in South Euclid, Ohio, on July 29, 1945. She grew up in a normal home with her parents (Ann and Arvel), one sister (Sandy), and three brothers (Dennis, Doug and Tom). When Sharon was young she wanted to be lots of stuff, like a painter, ice skater, singer, a teacher, a reporter, and an artist since she did have some drawing ability. She tried to be an ice skater but would always fall when she skated. When she tried to be a singer, she would be off key when she sang. She never really thought as much of being a reporter than the rest of her ideas!
In college she took writing courses that made her decide it was something she was good at. Sharon became a high school teacher before she had a big interest in writing novels. She was a teacher of High School English and Writing in England and Switzerland.
She married a headmaster of a school in New Jersey. They had two children.
Sharon Creech has written over 15 books since 1990, and has focused on writing mainly about young people. She has written both novels and picture books.
